Review of Week 1 2014

It was great to welcome new faces and keen continuers to our first meditation evening of the year. We hope that we can help each other to develop the habit of mindfulness and sitting meditation as the year unfolds. A regular daily sitting practice, even if it’s only five minutes or so, is the key. So, first we get the posture right so that meditation can arise naturally. We can remind ourselves of posture points by watching this short video from ‘Meditation posture’. But then what? Why are we sitting here doing nothing with all this mental chatter going on? Well, we can explore and hopefully experience many of the benefits of meditation during the next few weeks, but in the meantime you can explore the topic in the comfort of your own home by checking out ‘Dare to meditate’.
