This week was our final week focussing on the three methods in one – using an image, a mantra and then watching the breath. It’s interesting to hear how different people have different preferences and different effects from the practice, but then we are all individuals and that’s why it’s good sometimes to share this. When all’s said and done, we should remember ‘there’s no such thing as bad meditation’.
So our teaching reminded us that the purpose of meditation practice isn’t the time we spend on the cushion, it’s how this changes and improves our lives on a daily basis. It’s not about separating meditation and life into different compartments, it’s about bringing our meditation experience into everything we do. We call this integration, and that’s a beautiful link to the next course, which starts on Wednesday 22 May for 5 weeks. You’ll find more details here.
