Weeks 8-10 Meditation Class Review

Over the last three weeks we have practised extending our loving kindness to include a greater and greater circle. We started by focussing on someone close to us, someone who we naturally wish to be well. As we extend our focus to strangers, and then to people we have some difficulty with, it can be difficult to wish for their happiness. To help us with this, we considered that actually what we all have in common is our desire to be happy and their desire is as real as ours. Finally we extended loving kindness to our neighbourhood, our country, the whole world and beings everywhere.

We have been doing guided practice every week, being led through the different stages, and keeping on track with the focus of the practice. As this was the last week of this course, we have chosen a guided practice online so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of loving kindness practice (or metta) whenever you like.
